July just may be the most popular of all months to cruise to Alaska. Everyone associates July with warm summer days and as the time of the year you want to be traveling in Alaska. Well, July is great and all this is typically true but there is more to July then just the weather.
The communities along the Inside Passage are bustling with activity as the commercial fishing industry is in full swing. Canaries are processing seafood for shipments markets across the globe, the fishing fleets are harvesting their catches of salmon, shrimp, crabs, and halibut and the tourism industry is in full swing.
July is also a great month for the local activities and shore excursions but it's also the most popular month and you may find some of the events and excursions very full or completely booked. During this time of the season, plan ahead and book your tours early.
